Economic Development

Business Attraction:

Economic Development. The City of Petersburg, and Pike County Indiana is a great place to do business. Our local industry has a distinct tie to the power industry, including coal mining, electricity generation, material hauling, and steel fabrication.

Petersburg rests on the corridor for Interstate 69 through southwest Indiana. This roadway locally will connect Evansville with the State Capitol of Indianapolis. The roadway will ultimately connect Canada to Mexico. The project is now under construction and is estimated to be complete in the southern sections of Indiana by 2013. Check here for more information and for I-69 news.

The Mayor's office stands ready to assist you in learning more about our community and providing more information regarding local incentives. Project financing, tax phase in, infrastructure assistance, utility extensions and many other tools are in our economic development toolbox.

The city of Petersburg is a member of the Pike County Economic Growth and Development Council. Our partnership allows both city officials and the executive director of the Growth Council to assist you in your inquiry of Pike County. For more information you may contact any of the key contacts listed here.

For More information about the Pike County Economic Growth and Development Council contact the Executive Director, Paul Lake, PO BOX 204, Petersburg, in 812-954-2271
