The Petersburg Fire Department provides fire protection to the city of Petersburg, and through a fire protection contract also maintains primary coverage for all of Washington Township. The 25 member all volunteer department operates 2 stations in Petersburg. Station #1 is located at the corner of 10th and Walnut Streets. Station #2 is located at the City Services complex in the 100 block of Cherry Street. The stations are located to provide adequate coverage on each side of the city's bisecting railroad tracks. The department operates 2 Class A fire engines, 1 quick attack/rescue truck, 1 pumper/tanker, and 1 brush fire truck. The department provides basic rescue and automobile extrication services along with limited non-transport medical first response support. You may contact the Petersburg Fire Department by calling:
