The goal of the Petersburg Water Company is to provide to you a safe and dependable supply of drinking water at very reasonable and economical rates. Continuous improvement is our goal when it comes to protecting our aquifer, treating our water, and updating our distribution system. Petersburg draws its water from under the ground. This vast aquifer is filled with rock and sand which serves as a natural filter for the water. While ground water is classified as "hard water", it requires much less chemical treatment than surface water. Each year the City publishes a Consumer Confidence Report that discloses all testing for potential contaminants. We are pleased to report that we consistently meet or exceed all health standards. If you would like a copy of this report, please contact the Water Department.
